Dedication of 145 educational buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 497 crores
Bhopal 13 October 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that it is necessary to have school buildings to improve educational environment. It is our endeavour to ensure that children get good education in the school buildings. Educational activities have been affected in the Corona period, but the government has taken the task of connecting children online with education through innovative alternative arrangements. Chief Minister Chouhan today addressed a programme of virtual dedication of 145 new educational buildings at Minto Hall in Bhopal constructed at a cost of Rs 497 crore 70 lakh.
The educational buildings dedicated by the Chief Minister today include 13 Specialized Residential Schools (Girls Education Complex) of Tribal Welfare Department built at a cost of Rs. 357 crore 9 lakhs, 3 new hostel buildings of Rs. 4 crore 63 lakhs and 129 high schools and higher secondary school buildings costing Rs 135 crore 98 lakh of the School Eduction Department. These buildings were constructed for the Tribal Welfare Department and School Education Department by the Public Works Department. The academic infrastructures dedicated in the programme are of the election unaffected districts. Public Works and Cottage Gramodyog Minister Gopal Bhargava, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Science and Technology Minister Omprakash Sakhlecha, Minister of State for School Education, (Independent Charge) Inder Singh Parmar were present. Protem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma and Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sushri Meena Singh participated in the virtual programme. Principal Sectretary School Education, Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare, Principal Secretary Public Works Department and other officers were present.
10 thousand quality new school buildings will be constructed
Chief Minister Chouhan said that in the next 3 years, ten thousand such huge school buildings will be constructed in which many children can get quality education under one roof. These school complexes will be fully euqipped with residential facility, library, sports complex and transportation facility will be available for children living in the radius of 25-30 km. Protem Speakar Rameshwar Sharma, who was present in the virtual programme, termed the concept a revolution in the field of education. He said that with this type of educational institution, it will be possible to give quality education at the same place in the same building.
CM Chouhan’s direct interaction
Chief Minister Chouhan discussed the facilities available in the newly constructed building with the guardian Purushottram present in the premises of Kanya Shiksha Parisar in Umaria district. The Chief Minister sought information from the Principal regarding conduct of education during Covid period. The Principal told that 33 percent of children are being provided online education during the Corona period. Apart from this, books are being provided to all children in their homes. The teachers are also in constant contact with the students. Regardng opening of schools, Chief Minister Chouhan said that schools will start functioning after Diwali in view of current circumstances.
Panchayat Pradhan assures to do
maintenance work from time to time
Chief Minister Chouhan asked
Panchayat Pradhan Nandkishore Patidar present in Shujalpur Karwala school building in Shajapur district, what his action plan is for maintenance of the school building after its construction. Patidar informed that there is sufficient accommodation for 195 children in the school building. As a public representative I will monitor its maintenance from time to time. Principal Dharmendra Yadav said that the school was a high school in 2002 and was converted into Higher Secondary School in 2013. The building has sufficient rooms and systematically constructed staff room, toilet etc.. Protem Speakar Rameshwarkar Sharma, who was present as a representative in Government Higher Secondary School in Akbarpur, Bhopal, urged the construction of one more floor in the school building in view of the number of children in the school
Suraksha said she will become a patwari
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a discussion with meritorious student Sushri Suraksha Patidar of Shajapur district. He inquired about the amount provided by the government for laptops to meritorious students. Suraksha told the Chief Minister that she will utilize the funds provided by the government to study further. When Chief Minister Chouhan asked her what she wanted to become in furture, she said that I want to become a Patwari.
As many as 6 thousand 370 girls of the scheduled tribes category in the 13 Kanya Shiksha Parisars and 150 students of 3 hostel buildings of the Tribal Welfare Department will be provided better residential facilities. The newly built 129 High and Higher Secondary Schools of the School Education Department are constructed at different places in 26 districts.
