Finance Minister Mallaiya congratulates officials for achieving revenue tax targets

Bhopal: Finance and Commercial Tax Minister Jayant Mallaiya has congratulated Principal Secretary Manoj Shrivastava, Commissioner Commercial Tax Raghvendra Singh and Inspector General Registration and Superintendent Stamps Shivshekhar Shukla for collecting revenue more than the targets under registration and stamp and commercial tax in the year 2016-17.

In the state, revenue of Rs 26590 crore has been recovered against the target of 26585 crore in commercial tax. The revenue will go up after analysis. The department has estimated revenue to the tune of Rs 27000 crore. Through registration and stamp, revenue of Rs 4000 crore was recovered against the target of Rs 3800 crore in the year 2016-17. Process of documents registration has been computerised in the state. The rights of the parties have been further enriched by making process of registration transparent under the ease of doing business work plan.

Department prepares for new tax system under proposed GST

Departmental preparations are being carried out for implementation of proposed new tax system GST in Madhya Pradesh. Training on GST draft law has been imparted to all officers and employees. Training of GST software has been imparted to officers and employees through MAP IT at 23 places. Works related with migration of traders on GST portal are being done. So far, migration of more than two lakh dealers has been completed.-WTN
