Focus on reviving one water source in every village: CM Shri Chouhan
Bhopal: The State will witness Gramoday to Bharat Uday Abhiyan from April 14 to May 31 in four phases and Krishi Mahotsav will be celebrated from April 15 to May 2. For this all preparations have been completed. The Gramoday Abhiyan would be inaugurated to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti after offering prayers to his memorial. The second phase would continue from April 15 to April 30, third from May 1 to May 21 and fourth from May 22 to May 31. District incharge Ministers in charge will inaugurate the Abhiyan.
While reviewing ongoing preparations at the Mantralaya, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan today issued instructions that focus should be paid on developing or reviving at least one water source in every village. He also issues instructions to make strategy for strengthening women Self-Help Groups financially.
Village Parliaments to be organized
Village Parliaments would be organized during the Abhiyan. Infrastructure development, selection of beneficiaries of various schemes of rural development, review of Abhiyan’s activities and proceedings report would be discussed. District Collectors, officers and employees would be awarded for outstanding performance in last year’s Gramoday Abhiyan’s success. Activities would be implemented with the support of the various departments including Revenue, Public Health and Engineering, Food and Civil Supplies, Agriculture, Women and Child Development and Health Department. Work plan to double agricultural income would be discussed and given final shape at the Village Parliaments.
Work plans would be prepared for the next two years under schemes and programmes related to rural development and prosperity. Appointment of nodal officers, constitution of gram panchayat units, training programmes at division and Janpad level for activities at gram panchayat level have been carried out. District Level Vigilance and Review Committees have been constituted.
Activities that would be undertaken include cleanliness plan for villages, renovation of water infrastructure, preparations for Jalabhishek programme, programmes like Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana for poverty alleviation in villages, works under MNREGA, selection of beneficiaries for Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, campaign to free villages of open defecation, recognizing new beneficiaries of various rural development schemes, health examination of women, creating awareness towards malnutrition in children and organizing Krishi Gram Sabhas.
Krishi Mahotsava from April 15
Krishi Mahotsav would begin on April 15, just a day after the beginning of Gramoday Abhiyan. Activities to be undertaken include doubling income of farmers in five years, giving information on new methods of farming, starting agriculture sowing as per demand, taking benefit of Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, adopting organic farming, distributing soil health card etc. More than 600 Krishi Kranti Rath to work on creating awareness among farmers. Farmers would be counseled and given information on new techniques of farming through Krishi Kranti Raths. Soil Health Cards to be made available to all farmers.
A series of gram panchayat, development block and district level programmes have been made at the Krishi Mahotsav. Agriculture fairs would be organized in every district. Coordination was established with various departments including Panchayat and Rural Department, Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Cooperatives, Horticulture, Energy and Tribal Welfare department so that problems related to farmers and agriculture could be redressed.
Chief Secretary B.P.Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development Radheshyam Julaniya and Principal Secretaries of related departments were present at the meeting.-WTN
