Committe Constituted for Effective Implementation of “Lalima Yojana”

Bhopal: The state government has constituted a working committee of various participatory departments in the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for effective implementation of ‘Lalima Yojana’. The committee comprises Additional Chief Secretary Forest, Principal Secretaries of Ayush, Public Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, Scheduled Caste Welfare, Food - Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection and Panchayat and Rural Development department, Secretary School Education beside Commissioner Health Services, Commissioner Women Empowerment and Director National Health Mission as members.

Commissioner Integrated Child Development Services has been made member secretary of the committee. The working committee will provide guidance and give necessary directives regarding policy decisions, inter departmental coordination besides monitoring of the campaign. Moreover, the committee will convene meeting at least 4 times in a year under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. Monitoring of activities undertaken by committees formed under the chairmanship of collectors and sub-divisional officers at district and block level will be given in the meetings besides directives to conduct the campaign.

It may be mentioned that ‘Lalima’ campaign is being implemented in the state for generating public awareness to eradicate anaemia and for better health of children, adolescent girls and women.-WTN
