Govt. School Students Prepare Projects in “Aas-Paas Ki Khoj” Programme

Over 62 Thousand Students of Middle School Participated
Bhopal: “Aas-Paas Ki Khoj” project has been started by the State Education Center of the School Education department to develop creativity and innovativeness among the students pursuing studies in government middle schools during the academic session 2016-17. About 65 thousand selected students from 3100 schools participate in the project.
Students under the guidance of teachers prepared projects after studying local culture, traditions, rituals and historical heritages. Projects were evaluated by the State Education Centre-Bhopal. Also the best project was awarded by the centre. Information on historical heritages, folk culture, folk songs, festivals, local freedom fighters and local crops besides medicinal plants were given to the students in the project.
Projects Attracted Attention
Students of Government Middle School Kuntalkhedi of Tahsil Bhanpura-District Mandsaur included model of Gandhi Sagar Dam under their project. Gandhi Sagar dam is known as a matchless example of engineering. Beside this students also included opium farming of Mandsaur district in their project. The selected villages of the district are given lease for opium farming by the government.
Similarly, students of Jahlki Middle School of Tahsil Ichhawar-District Sehore encompassing science riddles, included local proverbs prevalent in Ichhawar tahsil in their project. They also included the historical importance of Bhagwan Pashupatinath Mandir of nearby village Devpura in the project.
Students of Government Middle School–Awra of Block Garoth-District Mandsaur included Awra Fort in their project. This fort is famously known as Jal Durg. About 200 years old fort holds an important place among the archaeological sites of the district.
Officers of the State Education Center Brijesh Saxena and Dr. Ashok Vyas are of the opinion that the ‘Aas-Paas Ki Khoj’ project was provided the opportunity to generate curiosity and for personality development of the students of middle schools.-WTN
