Two arrested with Leopard’s skin

Bhopal: The Tiger Strike Force of the Forest Department arrested two accused with leopard’s skin in their possession in Kusumaniya village of Dewas district. Based on the information received by the department and in a joint operation, the Hoshangabad and Indore’s local strike force arrested accused Hariom Tawar and Jiwan Adivasi. Search is on for another absconding accused.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Jitendra Agrawal has appealed to people to give information of any wildlife crime without delay on the following numbers – 9424792414, 9424792115, 9424792324 and 9424797031 to 41.

To keep check on wildlife crimes in the state there is one state level Tiger Strike Force in Bhopal and five regional Strike Forces in Hoshangabad, Indore, Sagar, Jabalpur and Satna. In the last few years the teams have arrested several national and international level smugglers from Madhya Pradesh and other states of the country and have successfully cracked their network. Now these teams keep acquiring secret information related to crime against wild animals and they conduct raids and take action accordingly after confirmation.-WTN
