Narmada is Like a Soul to body for Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava said that development in Madhya Pradesh cannot be imagined without Narmada. Narmada is like a soul to body for Madhya Pradesh. Several lakh hectare of land are being irrigated by Narmada water. We are getting electricity, potable water are being supplied to cities and towns. Narmada is our heritage and we will have to protect it.

He urged to the people of the district to make Narmada water pure and not to dispose of filth in the river. Bhargava was addressing the Jan-Samvad programme during the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva Yatra held at village Barman Kalan of Narsinghpur district.

Bhargava mentioned that Narmada Maiyya has an important contribution towards the development of Madhya Pradesh. He said that Narmada seva yatra is not only of India but the biggest campaign of the world. People have faith in Narmada.

There is a need to infuse faith into behaviour. Maa Narmada should not be polluted at any cost. We all are responsible for Narmada’s conservation. He said that Maa Narmada is not only the medium of welfare of any specific religion but it is for welfare of entire humanity. Bhargava informed that presence of the religious heads of all the religions indicate that all the people get benefitted equally from the Narmada. He administered pledge to the people for contribution to fulfill the pious objectives of the yatra and to inspire others.

Chairman Madhya Pradesh Gou-Palan and Pashudhan Sanvardhan Board Swami Akhileshwranand underlined the mythical, religious, cultural, environmental and economic importance of Narmada River. He said that yatra is a unique campaign for conservation of environment, soil, river, vegetation, wild and aquatic life. This yatra is proving effective and positive.

Yatra Convener Dr. Jitendra Jamdar said that we all have to fulfil the resolve of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for Narmada conservation through the Yatra. Former National Vice President of Nehru Yuva Kendra Vishnudutt Sharma said that the Narmada Seva Yatra has taken the form of a movement with the coordination of Sant, Samaj and Sarkar.

Guests performed pujan of the Narmada Seva Yatra flag, kalash and kanyas during the Jan Samvad.

Swagat Lakshmi Programme

Mona/Govind Nouraya’s daughter was named Soumya in the Swagat Lakhsmi Programme. Soumya was honoured and presented with a gift on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Minerals Corporation Chairman Shiv Kumar Choubey.

Among those present on the occasion were Sadhvi Pragya Bharati, Padamdas Maharaj, Swami Parmanand Maharaj, Gyani from Sikh Samaj, Joseph from the Christian community, Mohammed Ishtayar from Muslim community, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Smt. Lata Wankhede, MLA Sarvashri Jalam Singh Patel and Sanjay Sharma, Shailendra Jain, Sagar BJP district president Raja Dubey, District Panchayat President Sandeep Patel and Vice President Smt. Sheeladevi Thakar, District Cooperative Central Bank President Veerendra Foujdar, Jan Abhiyan Parishad Vice President Pradeep Pandey, sadhus, people’s representatives, officers and devotees in a large number.

Villagers were invited for the Yatra and Jan Samvad with yellow rice and a letter of invitation in the village. The Yatra was welcomed by the villagers in a religious and spiritual atmosphere with ‘Bandanvar and Rangoli’ and a shower of flowers.-WTN
