Girls Will Be Trained for Competitive Examinations

Chief Secretary Singh Reviews “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” Scheme 

Bhopal: Necessary coaching facility at district level will be provided to the girls for constable recruitment and other competitive examinations. This will facilitate them to get selected in maximum number and to become a role model for other girls. This was informed in a review meeting of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ scheme held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh. Moreover, it was informed that this effort will reduce the school drop rate of girls in higher classes.

‘Beti Bachao –Beti Padhao’ scheme is being implemented in 6 districts namely Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, Datia, Rewa and Tikamgarh which have low sex ratio.

Singh during the review mentioned that there is a need for special efforts to organise women gram sabhas regularly and to ensure maximum participation in it.
Beside review of Shakti Choupal, Har Ghar Dastak like awareness programmes in the meeting, PCPNDT Act, facilities being provided to pregnant women, malnutrition in girls and efforts being made to eradicate anaemia, enrolment in schools and status of girls’ hostel were reviewed.

Principal Secretary Women and Child Development J.N. Kansotiya, Principal Secretary Social Justice Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Commissioner Women Empowerment Smt. Jaishri Kiyawat and other Officers were present in the meeting.-WTN
