Discussion to Establish Common Service Centre

Coordination meet on Targeted PDS Topics with Cooperative Department 

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh presided over a meeting held on targeted Public Distribution System related topics in Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Protection Department. A discussion was held to establish a Common Service Centre (CSC) on the lines of the Gujarat model to financially strengthen fair price shops. The Food Department presented a scheme to make shops multipurpose. In this it was proposed to permit rural shopkeepers to sell branded company goods and of their own choice and sell daily use commodities as per need of the area.

Discussion was also held on appointment of sellers at fair price shops, payment of fixed remuneration to sellers for semi-skilled labourers and implementation of cashless system.

Among those present on the occasion were Principal Secretary Cooperatives Ajit Kesri, Principal Secretary Commerce-Industry and Employment Smt. Mohammed Suleiman, Principal Secretary Food - Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection K.C. Gupta, Secretary Finance Aniruddh Mukherjee, Commissioner Food- Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Vivek Porwal, Commissioner Cooperatives and Registrar Cooperative Societies Kavindra Kiyawat and M.D. M.P State Civil Supplies Corporation Faiz Ahmed Kidwai.-WTN
