Warm Welcome to Yatra on 111th Day at Rampura of Narsinghpur
Bhopal: “Namami Devi Narmade”–Seva Yatra reached village Rampura of Narsinghpur district on its 111th day. Villagers in large number hosted warm welcome to yatra despite scorching heat. It looks like a grand festive celebration programme, watching men putting chandan and roli tilaks beside women and girls holding kalash moving along with the yatra. Sants administered pledge to the villagers for river and environment conservation and explained to them that this is the right time for river conservation, if we do not make efforts now, we will not get time for repentance. Plentiful plantation must be carried out on both the banks of river Narmada to revive its grand form. Also pledge for water conservation, de-addiction and Beti Bachao administered to the people.
Sadhvi Pragya Bharti mentioned that presence of such a large gathering in scorching heat shows immense faith and devotion towards Narmada. Namami Devi Narmade’ seva yatra has been started by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ‘to save daughter of Lord Shiva, Narmada like Beti Bachao campaign. Campaign’s success depends on participation of society. Cooperation of Sants, Society and government will make this resolution successful. All round efforts should be made on war footing to make the resolution come true. She urged that each person should plant a sapling on his/her birthday and protect it. We should hand over live heritage Narmada to the coming generation in a rich form. Narmada is our existence and to conserve this existence is our conservation.
Sant Chetanya Bapu recited Narmadashtak. Sant Balakdas Maharaj explained about the religious, mythical, spiritual, social and economic importance of Narmada River. Narmada is a life line for its tributary rivers like Kshipra and Sabarmati beside human being and wild life. Reminiscing the Ujjain Mahakumbh, he said that Shahi Snan would have become possible in Kshipra due to Narmada River.
Chairman State Women Commission Smt. Lata Vankhede stated that the yatra being started by the Chief Minister Chouhan is a unique campaign of free India. Such a grand campaign was neither carried out in the past nor will it be undertaken in future. MLA Jalam Singh Patel mentioned that addiction is a cause for social, economic, family and personality annihilation, therefore quit this habit.
Sants and public representatives named the newborn girl of the village as ‘Namami’ one of the several names of Narmada river in Swagatam Laxmi programme. She was honoured presenting gifts. Guests performed flag and kalash poojan of Narmada during the Jan-Samvad programme.-WTN
