People in Villages Taking Pledge to make Narmada’s Pureness Intact

Grand Welcome to Yatra in Kerpani of Narsinghpur District
Bhopal: Awareness towards conservation of Narmada River is increasing continuously among the people of Narsinghpur district through ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ –Seva Yatra. People are taking pledge for making every possible effort to maintain Narmada’s pureness intact and to inspire others in villages. Innumerable women are joining the yatra to conserve Narmada River.
When yatra reached village Kerpani of Kareli block of the district, it was an atmosphere of celebration in the village. People were enthusiastically waiting for the yatra. Yatra route was decorated with toran gates. Women holding kalashs on their heads were leading the yatra. As soon as yatra’s flag and kalash reached village, people performed pooja. Rangolis were decorated in front of the houses and flowers were showered at various places. Nobody was ready to be left behind in welcoming yatra.
Jan-Samvad was held after the yatra’s arrival in the village. MLA Jalam Singh Patel administered pledge for conservation of Narmada River. People took pledge for making every possible effort to maintain Narmada’s pureness intact and to inspire others to do the same. Patel explained the ill effects of addiction. He urged women and youths for their active participation in eradicating addiction.
Sadhu-Sants and subject experts in Jan-Samvad urged the people to implement the resolution they are taking for conservation of River Narmada. People have been told to undertake plantation on both the banks of river Narmada and not to pollute Narmada River.
Chairman State Women Commission Smt. Lata Vankhede, Sadhvi Pragya Bharti, Swami Balakdas Ji Maharaj beside other Sadhus, Thakur Rajeev Singh, Dr. Vandana Arya, public representatives and villagers in large number were present on the occasion.
Girl of village Hathiyatola was named Narmadeshwari under the Swagatam Laxmi programme. Naming was done by the Sadhu-sants and public representatives. Gifts were presented to the girl Narmadeshwari.
After the Jan-Samvad, Maha Aarti of Narmada River was performed in village Kerpani. Bhajan evening focussing conservation of Narmada was held after the Maha Aarti.-WTN
