Example of Social Partnership Noticeable in Yatra at Raisen District

Monday - April 10, 2017 4:34 am , Category : MADHYA PRADESH

Bhopal: A unique example of social partnership was apparently set in the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ –Seva Yatra’s halt at Raisen. People of all religions, societies and classes played a significant role in the simple and successful operation of the yatra at Raisen. Not only did the District Administration extend support in providing essential facilities to the Narmada Seva Yatris, but came forward to take up the responsibility.

The Yatra passed through 42 villages of Raisen district. People belonging to different classes and communities came forward to provide snacks, lunch, dinner and drinking water to the Yatris during their nine-day stay in the district. The Seva Yatris and the entire district were all praise for the service provided by the people with utmost dedication and spiritedness. Several people met the Collector and took up the responsibility to make essential facilities available to the Yatris besides campaigning for them.

Many campaigns have been launched in the state and the country but Narmada Seva Yatra is one such campaign which not only generated awareness among masses towards river and environment conservation but also made an effort in connecting the society. At several places during the yatra, glimpses of the country’s identity “unity in diversity” could be seen. The appearance of various religious leaders, social workers, politicians and environmentalists on one platform to put an end to social evils for a healthy and peaceful future is being considered a positive indication towards social change.

Expressing gratitude towards all those who extended their support directly or indirectly in the operation of the Yatra in the district, District Collector Smt. Bhavna Valimbe said that in future also such campaigns and programmes connected with social concerns will be given all the support in the district and the state. The Collector said that after the Yatra is over, its objectives will be given actual shape in which active and constant participation is must.-WTN
