Vindhya is Replete from Cultural, Spiritual and Religious Point of View

Industry Minister Shukla Inaugurates Vindhya Mahotsav  

Bhopal: The three-day Vindhya Mahotsav witnessed a grand beginning amidst cultural programmes at Rewa on Sunday night. Commerce and Industries Minister Rajendra Shukla inaugurated the Mahotsav by lighting the lamp. Shukla said that Vindhya is replete from cultural, spiritual and religious point of view. He said that we can acquire global level status for Vindhya by keeping our culture, folk art and delicacies secure. Along with development organizing such programmes can help the area acquire an identity.

Shukla said that new achievements get added to the Mahotsav every year. This time the newly constructed Collectorate Bhavan will give recognition to Rewa. He said that this would provide solutions to problems of lakhs of people. The Industry Minister said that next year many achievements including Raj Kapoor Trust Memorial and Solar Energy Plant etc. will be added. He congratulated the Vindhya Tourism Committee for organizing the Mahotsav. The Industry Minister said that local talents apart from artistes from outside would get an opportunity to show their talents through the Mahotsav. Minister Shukla hoped for the success of the Mahotsav.
Mayor Smt. Mamta Gupta said that the folk art, culture, food and dialect of Vindhya region is famous all over the country. Vindhya Pradesh has its roots from Chitrakoot to Amarkantak.

Collector Rahul Jain presented the profile of Vindhya Mahotsav. He said that people should visit Shilpgram to see the artworks. He said that all these activities are a part of the Happiness Department.

Local artistes and tribal artistes from Dindori presented the famous Gudumb dance and national level dancer Arupa Lahari gave a Bharatnatyam performance based on Namami Devi Narmade. Playback singer Shaan’s songs added luster to the Vindhya Mahotsav.

MLA Smt. Sheela Tyagi, District Panchayat Vice-President Smt. Vibha Patel, Shahdol District Panchayat Vice-President Purnima Tiwari, BJP President Vidya Prakash Shrivastava, Rewa Janpad President K.P. Tripathi, Chancellor Avdhesh Pratap Singh, University Professor K.N. Singh Yadav, people’s representatives and elite citizens were present on the occasion.-WTN
