Maa Narmada Originates from Water Accumlated in Trees’ Roots not from Glacier

Jan-Samvad Held at Village Belkheda of Jabalpur District  

Bhopal: Maa Narmada’s stream originates from water accumulated in the roots of trees not from glacier. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri said this in Jan-Samvad held on 114th day of “Namami Devi Narmade”-Seva yatra at village Belkheda of Jabalpur district. Yatra entered Jabalpur district from Narsinghpur district today. A warm welcome with band was accorded to the yatra at village Meregaon, Pawla, Belkhedi and Sunderadehi. Women welcomed the yatra showering flowers at the arrival. The entire village was decorated with toran gates and kanya poojan was performed.

Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri mentioned that the yatra is transformed into a large public movement. Sources causing pollution in river should be identified with public awareness and participation to prevent river from pollution.

Naming of a Girl Child

A month old baby girl was named ‘Pratikalpa’ in Swagatam Laxmi yojana. Pratikalpana is one of the name of Narmada river.

MLA Smt. Pratibha Singh said that we all are responsible to fulfil the objectives of yatra started by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. She mentioned that we must follow the resolution being taken here.

Coordinator Dr. Jitendra Jamdar stated that Maa Narmada takes care of us since birth to death. He also explained 14 objectives of yatra.

Pledge towards conservation of environment and river, de-addiction, plantation, bio-farming and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao administered to the villagers during the Jan-Samvad. Also cultural programmes were organised on the occasion.-WTN
