Revenue Minister Umashankar Gupta takes stock of venue
Bhopal: Revenue Minister Umashankar Gupta said that a mass marriage ceremony to be held on April 29 under the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah and Nikah Yojana will be organized in keeping with the grandeur and social tradition. Gupta was taking stock of the programme venue at Dussehra Maidan, North T.T. Nagar today.
Minister Gupta issued instructions to ensure adequate arrangements of water tankers and street light besides leveling the programme venue.
Revenue Minister Gupta said that Mahila Sangeet and Mehndi ceremony will be organized at the programme venue a day earlier on April 28. Forty-six couples will tie the nuptial knot as per Hindu tradition and 5 couples will perform Nikah as per Muslim tradition. Gupta said that apart from the facilities provided at the government level, Bhopal region’s Jan-Kalyan Samiti will play a major role in following the social rituals. The Revenue Minister said that apart from the Jan- Kalyan Samiti, social institutions from his Assembly constituency and elite citizens will present to each couple a gift.
Municipal Commissioner Smt. Chhavi Bharadwaj, Corporator Smt. Saroj Jain, Corporator Jagdish Yadav, President of New Bhopal region Jan-Kalyan Samiti Rakesh ‘Anupam’, Secretary Subhash Raikwar and other department officers were also present on the occasion.-WTN
