CM Chouhan Performs Bhoomi Poojan and Dedicates Works Worth Rs. 355 Crore at Damoh
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that 10 lakh houses will be constructed for poor people of the state this year. The state government will deposit money in the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries for this. Chouhan was addressing the Antyodaya Mela at Damoh today. Minister for Finance Jayant Malayya and Minister incharge of district Damoh Smt. Kusum Mehdele were present on the occasion. CM Chouhan performed bhoomi poojan of construction works worth Rs. 355 crore and dedicated development works in Antyodaya Mela. Moreover, Chouhan distributed cheques worth Rs. 19 thousand 426 lakh towards assistance sum to 50 thousand beneficiaries in Antyodaya Mela.
CM Chouhan mentioned that the state government has prepared an agenda for the welfare of poor. Food grains at the rate of Re. One per k.g. is being provided to about 5 crore 50 lakh persons in the state. Financial assistance to women self help groups, 50 percent reservation in panchayats and urban bodies and 50 percent reservation on the posts of teachers are being provided to the women. He further stated that Madhya Pradesh will be made addiction free soon. He appealed to the citizens to quit liquor besides tobacco. CM Chouhan mentioned that ‘Gramoday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign will be started from April 14 in the state. Gramsabhas will be organised in all the Gram Panchayats headquarters. He appreciated the mission ‘Green Damoh’. Chouhan told that each citizen of the district should plant a sapling and take resolution to construct one pond in each village.

He further said that a 13 k.m. long by-pass road is ready in Damoh. As many as 1850 houses under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana and 950 houses by nagarpalika are being constructed under the Atal Ashray yojana in the city. Construction work of water tank worth Rs. 45 crore under the Jujhar Ghat Potable Water project has been completed. Pipeline laying work is going on speedily in the city. Pancham Nagar irrigation scheme to facilitate irrigation on 25 thousand hectare area is near completion.
Chief Minister Chouhan performed Kanya Poojan at the beginning of the programme and presented them gifts. He gave a sum of Rs. 25 thousand each to child artists of Anhad Kala Kendra and girl students of J.P.B. Higher Secondary School for showcasing presentations focussing ‘Namami Devi Narmade’.
CM Chouhan Refuses Welcome
Chief Minister Chouhan refused welcome reaching Antyodaya Mela. He said that the Chairman of Dainik Bhaskar Group Rameshchandra Agrawal has passed away suddenly. He was associated with social works. Chouhan also paid tribute to late Agrawal.-WTN
