State without Narmada River is Soulless
Bhopal: Panchayat and Rural Development minister Gopal Bhargava said that the state without Narmada river is like a person without soul. He said that hundreds of towns and thousands of villages and cities and major cities are flourishing due to Narmada river. Bhargava said it in Shahpura Bhatauni in Jabalpur during Namami Devi Narmade Seva Yatra. Bhargava said that this Yatra is not Karmakand or formality. Discussion of Narmada Yatra is going on as a holy resolution across the world. He said that the initiative of river conservation started in Madhya Pradesh, will have to be adopted in the country and the world. Bhargava said that tributaries of Narmada river should also be cleaned and conserved.
Jain Acharya Dinesh Shastri Maharaj taught a lesson not to dispose of impure substances in Narmada river. Girishanand Maharaj appreciated the public awareness for Narmada river conservation. He named eight-day old girl of Smt. Parvati Bai Varman, Shreya. Saint Akhileshanand Maharaj said that new initiative has been made by naming of a girl after Narmada river.
Former minister Ajay Vishnoi said that debt of Narmada is more than milk's debt. It cannot be repaid in entire life.
Disabled girls Jaikumari and Anju presented Narmada bhajan in the programme. They were presented with a cash reward of Rs. 2 thousand 500 by Satpal Sharma of Jammu, MLA Smt. Pratibha Singh, Thakur Bhojraj Singh, Vice President Mandi Thakur Vikrant Singh with cooperation of Samanvay Seva Kendra.
President Nagar Parishad Shahpura Smt. Shivangni Singh, Dr. Jitendra Jamdar, Collector Mahesh Chowdhary and public representatives were present on the occasion. Prasad was distributed by the Jabalpur Chemist Association in the programme.
Aarti Held at Narmada Bank of Malakchhar
Narmada aarti was performed on the bank of Narmada at Malakchhar. Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava announced a sum of Rs. 10 lakh for construction of ghat.
Yatra was accorded welcome by Muslim and Jain community beside other people.
A large gathering of people was witnessed in the yatra today. About 5 k.m long queue of people was seen in the yatra. Narmada Seva Yatra was welcomed by Muslim and Jain community beside other people. Members of both the communities also served cold drinks to yatris.-WTN
