Bhopal 03 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, attended the last rites of MP Late Nandkumar Singh Chauhan at Shahpur near Burhanpur. Chief Minister Chouhan laid a wreath on the mortal remains of Late Chauhan. Late Nandkumar Singh Chauhan was accorded full honour at funeral site. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Social Justice Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister of State Prahlad Patel, Faggan Singh Kulaste, MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, members of Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, MLAs, other people’s representatives and citizens in a large number were present.

Nandu Bhaiyya was a humble man without any enemies

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Nandkumar Singh Chauhan was a simple-hearted and humble person and a much loved public representative who had no enemies. A public representative with such humility, compassion, benevolence and dedication to public welfare is hard to find. It is impossible to fill the gap that has been left by his demise.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Nandu Bhaiya had a strong desire to establish a medical college in Khandwa so that the people of this place have not to go elsewhere for treatment. He made tireless efforts in this direction. In honour of his sentiments and efforts, Khandwa Government Medical College will be named after Late Nandkumar Singh Chauhan. Burhanpur District Hospital and Nagar Palika Bhawan Shahpur will also be named after the late leader. Chief Minister Chouhan met the family members of late Nandkumar Singh Chauhan and consoled them.

Sugarcane Research Center to be named after late Nandu Bhaiya

Chief Minister Chouhan said that considering the abundant banana production in Burhanpur district, the export of banana has been planned under ‘Ek Zila, ek Utpad’. Efforts in this direction were being made by Late Nandkumar Singh ji also. Along with this, the Sugarcane Research Center spread across 100 acre area in the district will also be named after Late Chauhan.

Statue will also be installed

Chief Minister Chouhan said that as late Nandkumar Singh was an office-bearer in Shahpur urban body, his statue will be established here. Apart from this, the Municipality building will also be named after him. The Chief Minister said that tributes to Nandkumar Singh will not be confined to words alone, but efforts will be made to realize his unfulfilled dreams. His efforts for the development of Nimar Zone will continue.

PM Modi and other Union Ministers were kept updated on his health condition

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Late Nandkumar Singh used to win the hearts of everyone. Bade shauq se sun raha tha zamana, tum hi so gaye daastan kehte kehte… Chief Minister Chouhan told that all out efforts were made at every level to provide the best treatment to Nandkumar Singh ji when he left for treatment from Bhopal to New Delhi. Discussion was also held on seeking treatment from outside India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda and many other national level leaders also expressed concern over the health of Nandu Bhaiya. They kept themselves updated with his health condition regularly, but destiny had other plans.

During the last rites, all those present observed two- minute silence and paid tributes to Late Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan – Window to News
