First copy of book focusing on tribal heritage and development presented to President
Bhopal 07 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released 'Bangi', a publication of Tribal Affairs Department at a tribal conference held in Damoh in the presence of President Ram Nath Kovind. The booklet ‘Bangi’ focuses on the tribal heritage, development and success stories of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Chouhan presented the first copy of the book to President Ram Nath Kovind after its release. On this occasion, Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Prahlad Patel and Union Minister of State Faggan Singh Kulaste, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sushri Meena Singh, Urban Developmentand housing Minister Bhupendra Singh, besides the MLAs, Principal Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil, Director TADP Sushri Shailbala Martin, other administrative officers and a large number of people from the tribal community were present.
Booklet’s content
The booklet ‘Bangi’, focusing on tribal scenario, heritage, development, culture and success stories, presents various dimensions and achievements of tribal heritage and progress. Dr. Swati Tiwari, an officer of the Department, has conceptualized and edited the book ‘Bangi’, underlining tribal development in Madhya Pradesh. Divided into four sections, the first section of this book depicts tribal culture and tradition, tribal development, concepts, dimensions and regional development schemes. The second section has 40 success stories focusing on various schemes. The third section outlines 11 activities focused on the success of unique schemes carried out as innovative initiatives. The fourth section includes reader literature related to the rich traditions of tribal expression, brief details of literature, dance, festivals, art and museums etc. ‘Bangi’ is a pictorial portrayal of tribal culture, development in 125 pages – Window to News
