Everyone Eager for Narmada Seva at Sahajpur

Bhopal: ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva Yatra reached village Sahajpur of Shahpura block-Jabalpur in the evening today. Yatra after completing its 116 days reached Sahajpur covering Bhitoni and Magarmuha. A grand welcome was accorded to the yatra here. Girls and women holding kalashs besides boys and men raising slogans for sanitation were eager for service towards Narmada.

All the people are eager to contribute in the resolution taken by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for conservation of Maa Narmada. Narmada yatra is transformed into a major campaign and has become the world biggest campaign to generate awareness among the people for river conservation.

MLA Smt. Pratibha Singh reached government high school of Sahajpur holding kalash on her head. Pooja of Narmada kalash and flag was performed at the programme site. Welcome song and cultural presentation were given by the school students besides Narmada bhajans presented by the bhajan mandli.

Chairman Gou Sanvardhan Board Akhileshwaranand Maharaj and Sadhvi Smt. Pragya Bharti explained the objectives of Narmada yatra. They also made people aware towards sanitation, plantation, de-addiction etc.

President Schedule Caste Morcha Khem Singh Dahiya, Senior Social Activist Sukhram, Viru Maharaj, Satpal Sharma from Jammu-Kashmir, Sarpanch Smt. Gita Bai Kushwaha, District President Rural B.J.P. Shiv Patel, President Mandi Neeraj Singh and Public Representatives were present on the occasion.

MLA Smt. Pratibha Singh announced the names of Narmada Seva Committee and Aarti was performed .

A total of 500 gram panchayats, 672 villages and 51 blocks have been covered by the seva yatra. Jabalpur is the 16th district of the yatra. The yatra started from Amarkantak on December 11, 2016 has covered about 2722 k.m. till date.
Dustbins decorated with attractive Colours

In order to give a message of cleanliness, the eco-friendly dustbins were decorated by the students with attractive colours which became centre for attraction for all. Girls were seemed holding attractive dustbins during the kalash yatra.-WTN
