Resolve for Cleanliness administered during Narmada Seva Yatra
Bhopal: The Narmada Seva Yatra was accorded a grand welcome at different places in Jabalpur city. Prayers were offered to the Yatra flag and ‘kalash’ at Gopalpur, Choukital, Bypass Chowk, Dhanvantari Nagar, Panda ki Madhiya, Guloua Chowk, Labour Chowk, Ranital Chowk and in front of Youth Hostel Stadium.
Taking part in the Narmada Seva Yatra, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Medical Education Sharad Jain said that it is our joint responsibility to keep the Narmada clean and healthy. Saplings would be planted to keep the Narmada unimpaired. Appealing to the public to keep the Narmada ghats clean he asked them not to mix any garbage or waste in the Narmada. If the Narmada remains clean, our lives will also be prosperous.
Narmada Seva Yatra State Coordinator Dr. Jitendra Jamdar said that one of the names of Narmada is ‘Pratikalpa’. Interpreting Satyug, Traita, Dwapar and Kalyug and describing the glory of Narmada, Dr. Jamdar said that Narmada was present in several Kalpas (a thousand cycles of Maha Yugas). The age of a pebble of Narmada as per Carbon Dating has been found to be four crore years old. Narmada has been carving these stones incessantly. When kept in Jalhari, they seem to be actual form of Lord Shiva. Narmada Seva Yatra is the world’s biggest Public Awareness Campaign. This Yatra is setting a record in the world and lakhs of people have already joined the Yatra.
Citizens have been administered oath of environment conservation, cleanliness and tree plantation. During the yatra, several citizens got their names added to the Narmada Seva Samiti.
On the occasion, Former National Vice President of Nehru Yuva Kendra V.D. Sharma, Former MLA Harendrajeet Singh ‘Babbu’, G.S. Thakur, Sandeep Jain, Sonu Verma and other elite citizens were also present.-WTN
