Change obtuse mentality towards Hindi

CM Chouhan at First Convocation Ceremony of Atal Behari Vajpayee Hindi University  

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed the need to change the obtuse mentality towards Hindi. He called upon people to end the slave mentality of ‘Knowledge of English is the symbol of excellence’. An environment that makes one feel proud to work in Hindi should be created. Chouhan was addressing the first convocation ceremony of the Atal Behari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya. At the convocation ceremony, 126 students were awarded the titles of Vidya Nidhi Snatakottar and Snatak Pratishtha. Besides, 156 students were given certificates, diploma and Post Graduate Diploma.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that personal language is the basis of all progress. The first Hindi University named after the country’s great Hindi scholar has been established in the state. This is a matter of pride. He said that all the needs of the university will be fulfilled. Efforts to affiliate the Hindi University with Medical, Engineering and other universities will be made. He urged experts from all over the state and country for guidance and support to bring the Hindi University in the category of best university.
Chouhan said that Indian knowledge, tradition and science is unique. When the civilization had not come into existence in the modern countries of the world, their residents would cover their bodies with leaves and barks of trees, at that time Indian rishi-munis were creating the sholakas of the Vedas. There were universities like Nalanda and Takshashila where learned people would come to study from all over the world. He said that only Bharatiya Gyandarshan which hopes for mutual harmony and global welfare, can show the path to peace to cure the society suffering from the fire of materialism. He said that the Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Chaatra Protsahan Yojana has been implemented so that the shortfall of resources should not come in the way of development of talents. Under this Yojana, the government will bear the expenses of higher education of students in medical, engineering, science, arts and law fields. He said that children belonging to any caste, creed, religion or community without any discrimination will be benefitted under the yojana. Chouhan said that the slogan “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaha” is only in India.

The Chief Minister awarded the “Atal Gold Medal” to Kumari Swechcha Mishra for having acquired the highest marks in all examinations in 2014-15 and 2015-16. He also awarded the “Late Motilal Gangadevi Cheepa Gold Medal” to Nityanand Tiwari.
The Chief Minister released the CD of development works in the University and souveneir Diksha, Atal Samvad, Bharatiya Gyan Parampara Pustak, Simhastha-2016 survey and Bhartiya Brahma Vigyan. He also awarded the first title of the University to Swami Govind Dev Giri for his contribution in Bhartiya Gyan Parampara.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr. Sitasaran Sharma said that an effort has been made to re-establish culture through the university. He said that if Hindi ends, so will culture and if culture ends, the country cannot be saved.
 
Moral Education will be added to curriculum
Higher Education Minister Jaibhan Singh Pawaiyya gave the convocation address. Pawaiyya said that everyone will be in Indian attire in the convocation ceremonies of all the universities from the coming session. He lauded the Chancellor for organizing the convocation ceremony in Indian attire. Pawaiyya said that moral education will be added to the curriculum. He told the difference between shiksha and vidya. The Higher Education Minister said that one cannot move ahead without self-confidence. Students should connect with social issues. He said that he had given his address as member of parliament in Hindi in Chile.

University Chancellor Mohanlal Cheepa said that except Medical Education all other courses are being taught in Hindi. The course is based on self-employment.
Swami Govind Dev Giri said that the world has acquired light of knowledge from India. He said that the country has attained political independence but mentally we are yet to become independent. Giri said that the first effort in this direction has been made in Madhya Pradesh. Educationists, teachers, parents and students were present on the occasion.-WTN
