Bhopal: The rise of the society and the country lies in the progress and upliftment of women. This was said by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cooperatives Vishwas Sarang at the seminar organised on “Women Skill Development and Economic Upliftment” by the Astha Mahila Sahakari Nagrik Bank Maryadit. He said that women have been worshipped and considered powerful in Indian tradition, darshan and culture. In Hindu religious epics, Saraswati, Durga and Lakshmi are considered Goddesses of Vidya (education), Shakti (power) and Dhan (wealth).
Innovations have been made in training and establishing women as entrepreneurs and making them self-reliant through cooperatives. Cooperation is not a tough job. Working according to division of labour through mutual assistance, harmony and coordination is cooperation.

The Minister gave away certificates to women trained by the Astha Mahila Nagrik Sahkari Bank in stitching, embroidery and other trades. Former directors of the banks were honoured with mementos. Bank President Smt. Arti Bisariya gave information about the working of the bank and the seminar. Among those present on the occasion were Joint Commissioner Cooperatives Arvind Sengar, Managing Director Awas Sangh and Joint Commissioner R.K. Sharma and Rajya Vipnan Prabhandhak IFFCO M.L. Joshi. Women from far flung rural areas took part in the seminar.-WTN
