Thursday - April 20, 2017 4:51 am , Category : MADHYA PRADESH

No Police Assistance/Protection in Opening of Shops or Liquor Sale

Bhopal: Home Minister Bhupendra Singh has strongly objected to the demand for police assistance for opening of new shops by liquor contractors. Singh issued clear instructions to the Police that they will not provide any kind of assistance or protection in opening of liquor shops or in sale of liquor in the state.

Home Minister Singh gave instructions to the Director General of Police also in this connection. Singh said on public opposition, liquor contractors expect police protection and assistance in opening of shops. Presence of the Police at such spots is against people’s sentiments. Hence, no assistance or protection will be extended by the district or local police in opening of liquor shops and in the sale of liquor to any liquor contractor. The Home Minister has asked to issue clear instructions in this regard and strictly follow them.-WTN
