Task Force Constituted

Bhopal: The state government has constituted a task force under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Planning, Economics and Statistics. The task force has been formed with an objective to develop work plan for Micro Nutrients Food Fortification in order to fulfil micro nutrient elements in food items produced and sold in the state.

Principal Secretaries Public Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, Animal Husbandry, Food–Civil Supplies and Consumers Protection and Tribal Welfare beside Managing Directors of Civil Supplies Corporation and Cooperative Dairy Federation Ltd. have been included as members in the task force. Controller Food and Drug Administration has been made member secretary.

It may be mentioned that task force will deliberate and prepare a work plan on micro nutrients food fortification of packed food items sold in the state besides fortification of food items by the concerned departments which are distributed under the government schemes. The task force will also deliberate and prepare a work plan on possibilities of fortification of food items which are sold under the government schemes and in the open market. Moreover, the task force will take necessary action to implement it in the state at large scale.-WTN
