Narmada Seva Yatra reaches Mandala

Jan Sanvad held in village Dobhi and Udaipur
Bhopal: Holy river Narmada is lifeline of Madhya Pradesh. Narmada is providing drinking water to many states. Narmada's existence is in danger because of interference in environment and rising pollution. The stream of Narmada river is shrinking continuously which is a matter of concern. Main objective of Narmada Seva Yatra is to create public awareness towards water conservation and it has brought positive results. Mahamandeleshwar Akhileshwaranand Maharaj said this in Jan Sanvad held in village Dobhi and Udaipur of Mandala district.
Swami Akhileshwaranand said that the Yatra is creating awareness on 13 different points in which, sanitation, water conservation and environment protection are major points. Chairman of MP Text Book Corporation Awadhesh Naik said that manmade dirt has not only polluted water of Narmada, it has caused adverse impact on life of aquatic animals also. District Panchayat President Smt.
Sampatiya Uaike quoted adverse effects of polythene and appealed not to use them. MLA Rampyare Kulaste administered resolution for protecting Narmada to audience.
Before this, Narmada Seva Yatra reached village Dobhi from Nagar Panchayat Barela of Jabalpur district where MLA Sushil Tiwari and District Collector, Jabalpur, Mahesh Chandra Chaudhary handed over Dhwaj and Kalash to District Panchayat President Smt. Sampatiya Uaike, MLA Rampyare Kulaste, Vice President, District Panchayat, Shailesh Mishra and Collector, Mandala, Smt Preeti Maithil. Villagers welcomed the Yatra. Narmada Seva Samiti's names were announced in Jan Sanvad. Women and girls were carrying Kalash in Yatra. Yatra was acccorded welcome by showering flowers. Yatra will reach Narayanganj for night halt via Kalpi on April 21.
President Janpad Panchayat, Beejadandi, Smt Amka Gauthria, Vice President, Janpad Panchayat, Beejadandi, Smt Hemlata Yadav, District Panchayat Members Pusuva Singh, Ratan Thakur, other public representatives and villagers were present on the occasion.-WTN
