Timely measures to be taken for flood relief

Industry Minister Shukla reviews flood relief measures 

Bhopal: Commerce-Industry, Employment and Mineral Resources Minister Rajendra Shukla said that keeping in mind the floods last year, timely measures should be taken for flood control this year. Shukla was reviewing the works and measures taken to control floods at Rewa today.

Shukla said that immediate cleaning of places obstructing drainage in rivers should be undertaken to ensure free flow of water. He said that the soil, silt and stones in the marked spots in the rivers should be removed phase wise on priority basis. The Industry Minister gathered information about the measures taken to improve drainage at Bichiya bridge and other places. He issued instructions to send proposal for the required budget for the works so that the budget can be approved.

The Industry Minister gathered information about the pipelines being laid down for drinking water in the city. He issued instructions to complete the ongoing construction works soon.

Divisional Commissioner S.K. Pal, Nagar Nigam Commissioner Karmavir Sharma and other officials were also present during the meeting.-WTN
