CM Chouhan thanks Team Indore for Corona control measures and successful vaccination

Expresses satisfaction on preparations to tackle third wave of Corona 
 
 
Bhopal 03 June 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today thanked Team Indore for the arrangements made for the control of Corona in Indore and for the successful vaccination programme. He expressed satisfaction over the preparations being made as a precaution for its control in view of the possibility of a third wave of Corona. Chief Minister Chouhan said that if such preparations are made, then the challenges of the third wave can be tackled easily. He said that the roko-toko campaign should be run continuously. Strictness should be maintained to make people follow the Covid protocol and special care, alertness and vigilance is must, so that the third wave of Corona does not emerge as a big challenge.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was addressing a review meeting on the arrangements for Corona at AICTSL Indore today. Chief Minister Chouhan reviewed the current status of Corona infection, efforts being made for prevention and the preparations being made to deal with the third wave of Corona, hospital, oxygen management, vaccination etc.  Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, MLAs, members of State Disaster Management Committee, public representatives and senior officials were present on the occasion.

Indore presents best example

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Indore team has done remarkable work for Corona control and vaccination during the last months. The challenge of Corona was faced with unity and coordination. Corona was controlled in time. Significant achievement was made in the field of vaccination, for which the entire Indore team deserves to be congratulated. The work that Indore has done with harmony and unity is a good example. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Indore has set an unique example in the country in many areas besides Corona control and vaccination. During the Corona period, there were proper arrangements for treatment etc. in government hospitals. As a result, people’s confidence in government hospitals has increased.

Roko-toko campaign should be launched with public awareness

Chief Minister Chouhan said that public awareness and roko-toko campaign should be carried out constantly to follow Covid protocol and Covid appropriate behaviour. People should be advised on how they can remain protected from Corona through caution and vigilance. Regarding awareness, all public representatives should spread their appeal and message through social media and other means. He said that in view of the marriage ceremonies which have started being organized now, information should be given to the organizers and other persons related to the function regarding adherence to Covid protocol and make them follow it.Special precautions should be taken in marriage ceremonies. He said that special care should be taken even on the borders of the state. Efforts should be made to ensure that no person comes to the state after getting infected. Chief Minister Chouhan said that adequate arrangements of oxygen should be made in view of the third wave.

Number of Black fungus patients reduced

Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma informed that 80 oxygen plants are being set up in the division. Giving information about the arrangements to deal with black fungus, he said that the patients of black fungus are now decreasing.

Special arrangements for children and pregnant women in the third wave

Collector Manish Singh informed about the precautionary arrangements being made to deal with the third wave of Corona and informed that the number of oxygenated beds has been increased. Special arrangements have been made for the treatment of pregnant women and children if they are found Corona positive. PC Sethi Hospital has been specially designed. He told that in the second phase of Corona, where the number of oxygenated and ICU beds was 7,650, it has been increased to 10 thousand 250. In these, the number of beds with ICU for women and children is adequate. For the first time in the district, four community health centers have also been converted into Covid hospitals. Arrangement of 8,434 beds has been made in 111 private sector hospitals and 1,816 beds have been arranged in various government sector hospitals.

It was informed in the meeting that arrangements have been made to provide special training to doctors and nurses along with four special mother-child ambulances for pregnant women and children who are tested Corona positive. The training work has been started. One master trainer is being prepared in each hospital who will train doctors and nurses in their respective hospitals.

All 42 oxygen plants will begin functioning by August 10

It was informed in the meeting that the work of setting up oxygen plant in Indore district is going on at a fast pace. As many as 42 oxygen plants are being set up in the district at a cost of Rs 52 crore. Out of these, 11 oxygen plants have been established. The work order for the remaining 31 oxygen plants has been issued. The construction of all oxygen plants will be completed by August 15.

76.77 percent of people vaccinated

As many as 21 lakh 55 thousand people have been vaccinated so far in the vaccination campaign against the vaccination target of 28 lakh people in Indore district. The achievement has been about 80 percent in urban areas and 70.41 percent in rural areas. A record was set under the massive campaign in the district on June 21, by vaccinating 2.25 lakh people in one day with Indore district on the topmost position in the country. The vaccination campaign in Indore district has been made a mass movement with the cooperation of all sections. Drive-in vaccination centers have been set up at 16 places in the district. Special arrangements were also made for vaccination of women and handicapped persons.

People followed self imposed restrictions

Collector Manish Singh informed that special awareness regarding vaccination has increased in the district. Many associations and organizations are coming forward and following self-imposed restrictions in their respective areas so that no one enters their areas without vaccination. It was told that more than 40 resident unions have banned entry of outsiders in their areas without vaccination certificate. Entry has also been banned in Choithram Mandi, Niranjanpur Mandi, Laxmibai Anaj Mandi, Chhawni Anaj Mandi without vaccination certificate. Decision has been taken to implement ban on entry into Siyaganj, Cloth Market, 56 Dukane Association and all industrial organizations without vaccination certificate after July 10. ‘No Vaccine – No Salary and No Vaccine – No Entry’ rule is being implemented by various organizations.

Micro action plan giving good results

It was informed in the meeting that in the last months, work was done on a micro action plan for the control of the second phase of Corona infection in Indore. It gave good results. This arrangement helped in controlling Corona promptly in those areas where a large number of patients were reported. The work of Corona control was done in the district by making village and colony wise micro planning. Masks have been made mandatory in the district for Corona prevention.
