Bhopal: Food and civil supplies minister Omprakash Dhurve said that solid action should be taken up to prevent reoccurrence of fire incidents in the future at kerosene sale places. Arrangement should be made to install fire extinguishing equipment at fair price shops. Dhurve was holding a meeting of departmental officers at Mantralaya. The meeting was called following fire broke out at a fair price shop in Harrai (Bargi) of Chhindwara district on April 21 during kerosene sale. Principal Secretary Cooperatives Ajit Kesri, Commissioner Food Vivek Porwal, Commissioner Cooperatives, Kavindra Kiyavat, Managing Director of Civil Supplies Corporation Faiz Ahmad Kidwai were present in the meeting.
Dhurve said that there should be strictness to prohibit smoking at government fair price shop. Fair price shops should not be in streets as possible and kerosene sale should be in open. Sale should not be made at shops' door. Rear gate should be in the shops. Full detail of salesman should be kept. E-ration should be simplified.
Dhurve discussed design of fair price shop and said that it should be finalised soon. He got suggestions for kerosene tanker size. Dhurve said that shops and tanker's design should be as per safety point of view. Officers of Indian Oil Corporation and Directorate of Food and Civil Supplies were present on the occasion.-WTN
