Over Rs 3746 crore income from Mineral Revenue in State

e-TP system for all 51 districts for Mineral Transport
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is the country’s fourth mineral rich state from the point of view of mineral availability. Last year, the mineral revenue in the state was Rs 3746 crore 11 lakh. Rs 3610 crore and 56 lakh was obtained from mineral revenue in the year 2015-16.
Illegal excavation, transport and storage of minerals is banned in the state. In 2016-17, 11 thousand 885 cases of illegal transport, 648 cases of illegal storage and 827 cases of illegal excavation were registered. Those found guilty were made to deposit a fine of nearly Rs 35 crores in these cases.
Use of Information Technology in Mineral Resources Department
Electronic Transit Pass (e-TP) system has been implemented in all 51 districts for vigilance on mineral transport in state. Information of illegal excavation, transport and storage is being obtained through M.I.S. report in the form of a monthly sheet. The e-TP system has also fulfilled Prime Minister’s desire for cashless transactions.
