FIR lodged against two employees of 108 ambulance service in Sagar

Health Department makes alternate arrangement 

Bhopal: An FIR has been lodged against EMT Jibran Khan and vehicle driver Kalicharan Chorasiya, both employees of 108 ambulance service located Baheriya of Sagar district, for dereliction in duty, under section 304. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Saini registered FIR in Cant police station, on the instructions of district collector Vikas Narwal.

 Smt Kamla Bai, wife of Ramprasad, resident of village Rajwas, block Malthaun had died after road accident on April 26 due to 108 ambulance vehicle not reaching on time. Family members of the deceased had phoned 108 vehicle service after she fell down from motor cycle. Ambulance did not reach at the spot. Family members had brought the injured women district hospital by their own resources where she was declared brought dead. It was found both employees of 108 vehicle service located at Baheriya were on strike.

 It is noted that employees related with 108 ambulance service are on strike at some places in the state. Total 410 ambulances, out of 486 attached, are active and they are performing their duty.

 Health department has made alternate arrangement so that health services can be availed to common people, amid strike by employees of 'Deendayal 108' emergency ambulance service. Common man can get free ambulance service by dialing 108 toll free number for calling ambulance service in case of any emergency. During the strike, 108 ambulance service was provided to 1783 victims. -WTN
