Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated Balaghat Investor Meet 2021
Bhopal 18 August 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Balaghat is a district of amazing possibilities. Here there is an abundance of many natural wealth including forest, minerals, water, agriculture and deposits of all resources. By utilizing these assets and resources, Balaghat will be made “unemployment free – with employment”. Investment promotion assistance is being provided for setting up industries in the district. An additional 25 percent rebate is being given on land allotment along with 50 percent rebate. There is a concession in electricity fee, power tariff. Pollution control validity has been increased from 2 years to 5 years. Assistance for infrastructure development and other incentive facilities are also being made available. There is an investment climate in Balaghat. The state government will provide employment to 7 to 8 thousand people by investing about Rs 4,000 crore.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Investor Summit 2021 held at Balaghat virtually from his residence. Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon, Minister of State for AYUSH and Water Resources Ramkishor Kawre, MP Dhal Singh Bisen, former minister and present MLA Gauri Shankar Bisen, representatives and officials of industrial units were present in the programme at Balaghat.
Special session on Manganese based industry, Rice mill, Tourism and Bamboo industry
In this summit, debate sessions regarding setting up of manganese based industries, new rice mills and workshops on bamboo industry and tourism development have been organised. Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Sanjay Shukla attended the summit from the Chief Minister's residence.
Value addition of raw material will have to be done
Chief Minister Chouhan said that employment is necessary for self-reliance. Employment opportunities will be created from industries. Value addition of raw material available in Balaghat will have to be done. Here paddy has immense potential along with minerals. A new policy is being brought for paddy, so that it can be purchased at minimum support price and people will get employment. There are many opportunities in the food processing sector as well.
Kabelu industry can be revived
Chief Minister Chouhan said that there are possibilities of mineral based industry also. Balaghat's Kabelu (clay roofing tiles) is also famous. Kabelu is used less in pucca roofs, but now people are getting attracted towards the construction of eco-friendly buildings. The design of the Kabelu can be changed to produce designer floor tiles and pre-fabricated ceilings. The Kabelu industry can also be revived depending on the changing requirement and technology.
Bamboo furniture and incense sticks industry has potential
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Balaghat’s bamboo is very useful. Here bamboo is being produced on private land along with forests. Initiatives can be taken for enterprises like making furniture and incense sticks from available raw material in the form of bamboo.
Ample investment opportunities in hotels, resorts, wellness centers
Chief Minister Chouhan said that there is immense potential for tourism in Balaghat. A large area of Kanha National Park is located in Balaghat district itself. Hence, there are ample investment opportunities in hotels, resorts, wellness centers.
Invest, give employment in Balaghat, government is with you
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Balaghat holds immense possibilities. There is a need to move ahead in food processing along with agricultural production. The state government is inviting investors to invest with full confidence. All possible facilities, safe environment and cooperation will be provided in Balaghat. While motivating the investors, Chief Minister Chouhan said that you should invest, give employment in Balaghat, the government is with you.
Committed to implement Ease of Doing Business
Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon said that Chief Minister Chouhan is committed to implement Ease of Doing Business. It is only as a result of the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Chouhan that Madhya Pradesh has come under the category of developed states from BIMARU. The Minister of State for Water Resources, Ramkishor Kawre said that efforts are being made to brand Chinnor rice of Balaghat under the EK Jila-EK Utpad scheme. MP Dhal Singh Bisen said that necessary infrastructure for industrial development, transportation, resources required for agriculture and industrial sector etc. are all available in Balaghat.
