Bhopal 23 August 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the spirit of entrepreneurship should be strengthened among the students. The values of self-reliance should be developed in them. Vocational education should be result oriented. The work of solving the needs and problems of agriculture, animal husbandry and industries should be done by the universities. He has said that for meaningful education, it is necessary to keep pace with the present needs as well as the needs of the future. The works should be reviewed on the basis of what is the contribution of the educational institution in the development of the area. He called for restructuring the course module for multi-exit and multi-entry arrangements.
Governor Patel was reviewing Rajiv Gandhi University of Technology, Bhopal, Nanaji Deshmukh University of Veterinary Sciences, Jabalpur, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agriculture University Gwalior and Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur in separate sessions at Raj Bhavan today.
Live contact of technical education with industries
Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the employment status of technical education students should be reviewed. How many students set up their own enterprise. Education institution wise details of how many set up enterprises or joined services should be maintained. He has said that it is necessary that there should be a lively contact between the students and the industry. The management of industries should be invited from time to time in the campus by the institutes of technical education. They should be familiarized with the teaching, skill up-gradation and technical competencies of the students.
This will motivate the industries to select the students according to their needs. He also told the need to compile the experiences of the students regarding service works in the villages. He said that according to different social concerns, students should be sent to rural areas. Students should share their experiences with each other on a mutual basis. This will lead to effective implementation of public awareness and social service works according to the village environment.
Agricultural experts and students should reach among farmers
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that our country is agriculture-oriented. The quality of agriculture is essential for the development of the country. The experts, students of the Agricultural University will have to reach among the farmers. He said that there is a difference between practical and theoretical knowledge. Along with sharing the experiences of the progressive farmers with the students, the students, experts should go to the villages and guide and motivate them to make better use of the resources available with the farmers. Among them, the use of new information should be encouraged by stating its usefulness and economic benefits.
Animal husbandry should become a means of livelihood
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that in order to make animal husbandry economically profitable, it is necessary to review the productivity of animals and do breed improvement works. Information should be disseminated on a wide level regarding animal husbandry methods, diseases and treatment of animals. He said that by establishing contact and coordination with the animal owners, they should be informed about increasing the income through animal husbandry. He said that the students should be motivated for self-employment efforts in animal husbandry.
