Development of the country depends on the development of villages - Governor Patel

Bhopal 24 August 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the true development of the country will occur only when the villages develop, he called upon the public representatives and educated youth to get the benefits of the schemes and programmes of the government to the underprivileged community. The Governor was addressing the villagers after distributing the benefits of various schemes to the tribal beneficiaries in Ghatkhedi, a tribal-dominated village of Saire Gram Panchayat in Vidisha district on Tuesday. District Panchayat President Toran Singh, regional MLA Rajshree Rudrapratap Singh were present on this occasion.

Emphasizing on education and health of the girl child, Governor Patel said that only by empowering the girl child, the society and the country can be made capable. Expressing happiness on visiting the tribal dominated village, he said that today there are many welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments. Earlier such schemes were either not there or were limited. He made an appeal to implement these schemes without any discrimination. He said that the tribal population should be connected with the mainstream by providing excellent health and education. Governor Patel said that he is convinced that now the implementation of the schemes is being done with utmost seriousness. He said that there are welfare schemes of the government from pre-natal to every sphere of life.

Describing the importance of life giving air during the devastating disease of the century like corona, the Governor said that environmental protection has always been helpful in better health of mankind and it is the responsibility of the society to save the forests along with undertaking plantation and conserving the resources provided by nature. Governor Patel distributed the certificates of benefits of the schemes to various beneficiaries. He also presented uniforms, books etc. to the school children. The Governor also honoured the mountain climber of Vidisha district Sandeep Choukse.
District Panchayat President Toran Singh and Shamshabad MLA Rajshree Rudrapratap Singh also addressed. The villagers welcomed the Governor in a traditional manner in the programme. The national anthem was played at the beginning and end of the programme.

Governor reached the villagers’ chaupal and interacted

Governor Mangubhai Patel freely interacted with the villagers in Ghatkhedi village. In the chaupal set up by the villagers, without any formalities, Patel inquired about the well being of the people of every class and also inquired about their life. He told the President of the District Panchayat and the regional MLA to improve the tap water scheme in the village and the internal roads in the village. The Governor expressed satisfaction that there are around 40 Pradhanmantri Awas in the village. He talked to the children and motivated them to go to school and study regularly.
