Approval to conduct Navbharat literacy program worth over Rs 110 crore

Bhopal 31 August 2021: A meeting of the Cabinet was held in Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Cabinet has granted approval to conduct ‘Nav Bharat Literacy Programme’ in the state.
‘Padhna-Likhna Abhiyan’ will be conducted till July 31, 2021 followed by ‘Nav Bharat Literacy Programme’ till March 2026 to increase the literacy rate in the state. The programme is being conducted to educate those above 15 years of age in all urban and rural areas of the state who have not able to acquire formal education and who have crossed the age of acquiring formal education.
The main objective of the programme is to provide basic and functional literacy to the illiterates. This scheme will be operational from the financial year 2021-22. The work of the literacy programme will be conducted in the state, district and development block by the staff of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan/Education Department. Along with this, the organizations/individuals whose cooperation will be taken educating the illiterates will be called ‘Akshar Saathi’. Literacy classes will be conducted by Akshar Saathis as per their own will. In this, basic and functional literacy will be provided to the illiterates. No remuneration / honorarium will be paid for this work. No regular appointment will be made in the literacy programme.
The project will be run with a grant shared by the Centre and the State in a ratio of 60:40 respectively. A target of educating 32 lakh 60 thousand illiterates has been set for five years under the Literacy programme, for which a target of about Rs 110 crore 84 lakh will be spent in five years.
Four new industrial parks costing more than Rs 128 crore to be developed
The Cabinet has decided to develop four new industrial parks in the state at a cost of Rs 128 crore 65 lakhs which includes Multi Product Industrial Parks Mohana, Ratlam, Jaora and Katni (Lamtara). With the implementation of the plan to develop the industrial sector, an investment of about Rs 3400 crore will be made for the establishment of new industries and employment will be available to 4 Thousand persons. Apart from this, the government will get revenue in the form of direct / indirect taxes.
Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam
The Cabinet has granted its approval to strengthen the structure of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Maryadit and for the formation of 4 new project implementation units (Guna, Singrauli, Mandsaur and Neemuch). For each new project implementation unit, 68 new posts have been approved at the rate of 17 posts and 24 new posts for strengthening the structure of Jal Nigam Headquarters, this way approval to create a total of 92 new posts has been given. Jal Nigam has completed the implementation of 19 group water supply schemes costing Rs 1316 crore since its inception in 2012. Drinking water is being provided to 805 villages through them. Earlier, while 10 projects were being executed by Jal Nigam every year on an average, 40 projects are being implemented in the current year 2021-22. Keeping in view the expansion of the work and scope of Jal Nigam, the expansion and strengthening of the headquarter level structure of Jal Nigam and formation of four new project implementation units was necessary, accordingly, the Cabinet gave its approval today.
At present, the work of implementation of 40 group water supply schemes by Jal Nigam, costing Rs 14,135 crore is in progress in different districts. These scheme will benefit a targeted 10 thousand 294 villages.
Vivek Sagar appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police
In compliance with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s announcement on August 12, 2021, the Cabinet has decided to grant special conditional appointment to Olympic hockey player Vivek Sagar Prasad to the direct recruitment vacant post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (GD), relaxing the rules.
Procurement of Moong and Urad
The Cabinet approved the Price Support Scheme (PSS) and Price Stabilization Fund (PSS) under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PMASHA) of the Government of India in the summer 2020-21 (marketing year 2021-22) in the state for procurement of moong and urad from the registered farmers by the state procurement agency ‘MP State Cooperative Marketing Federation’.
Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana
The Scheduled Castes Welfare Department has been declared as the nodal department for the ‘Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana’. In the year 2020-21, 117 new villages have been selected by the Government of India. Under the scheme, members of scheduled castes of selected villages will be benefitted directly. The Cabinet approved the operation of Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana and its continuation in the years 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. The Government of India, selects villages with more than 50 percent Scheduled Caste population, whose population is 500 or more on the basis of 2011 census under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana’. The amount for the interlocking of infrastructure works in the prepared village development plan is released by the Government of India.
