Teachers firmly faced the challenges of Corona
Continuity of education maintained in the state
It is the duty of teachers to prepare students for upcoming challenges
Bhopal 05 September 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that “the main aim of education is to impart knowledge, skills and instill values in the new generation”. Today as Teacher's Day, is dedicated to the former President of India, eminent educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr. Radhakrishnan considered education and knowledge as the most powerful basis of life. In his tweet on Teachers’ Day, Chief Minister Chouhan says that Madhya Pradesh is committed to make its contribution in building an educated, capable and empowered India of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ji’s dreams. Dr. Radhakrishnan was of the opinion that “a teacher is not the one who thrusts facts on the mind of the student, instead the real teacher is one who prepares the students to face future challenges.” In fact, it is the teachers who do the work of shaping the society.
Teachers must remain committed towards their duties
School teachers are not only preparing the coming generation for challenges, but are also themselves facing the challenges with determination. Corona infection had completely disturbed the school education system. The very existence of the institution named ‘school’ was recognized due to the presence of children learning, playing, their involvement in other extra-curricular activities and mutual interaction. Even in this adverse situation, teachers remained committed towards their duty of imparting knowledge, skills and values to the students. As a result of these efforts of the teachers, the order of study of the students did not break and they continued to experience continuity in education.
Along with taking online classes, teachers also helped people suffering from Corona
Teachers of the state kept the education system moving during Covid period by conducting online classes through Diksha, DigiLep, Doordarshan, Radio, WhatsApp etc. Schemes like “Hamara Ghar-Hamara Vidyalaya” helped establish constant contact with students. Along with education, teachers also assisted in works like survey of people suffering from Corona, their treatment and vaccination.
Arrangement of online classes
In view of the situation of Covid-19, online classes are being conducted every day since last year so that the education of the students continues. Learning material was shared through WhatsApp for students of classes 1 to 12 through Digital Learning Enhancement Program (DigiLep).
WhatsApp became a medium to connect with students, 41 lakh students took part
Educational programmes were broadcast for Classes VI to XII through Doordarshan Madhya Pradesh and through radio programme, besides programmes for Classes I to VIII is being broadcast every day since last year. Apart from this, class wise and subject wise interesting educational material were also sent by creating WhatsApp groups for teachers and parents. Under the Hamara Ghar Hamara Vidyalaya- programme, printed material was given to students. A WhatsApp-based arrangement has been made to assess their learning. A total of 41 lakh students have participated in this.
Tele counseling to solve psychological problems
To solve the psychological problems of the students of the state, tele-counselling is being arranged through UMANG helpline 14425. So far 62 thousand 716 students have taken advantage of this helpline facility.
Necessary training provided to teachers
With the aim of improving the level of education in the state, arrangements have been made for online training of teachers to provide quality education. Through Government of India’s Diksha platform, 2 lakh 70 thousand teachers have received training of 18 training modules in the state. Under the National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA), NCERT has developed 18 quality training modules in various subjects with the aim of enriching the knowledge and skills of teachers of Classes I to VIII in the state. Through this programme, training has been provided to 2 lakh 60 thousand teachers.
Coaching of PT instructors by national institutes and national level coaches
Laxmibai Rashtriya Shiskha Mahavidyalaya provided 21-day online training to 3 thousand PT instructors of the state. Similarly, under the guidance of Badminton National Coach Pullela Gopi Chand and Olympic Gold Medalist in Shooting Abhinav Bindra, 5-day online training was provided to 350 PT instructors – Window to News
