Narmada River Conservation Campaign is Going On Despite Scorching Heat 

Bhopal: Narmada Seva Yatra reached Dharmpura covering Balpur, Palki and Churiya on May 2. Moving ahead constantly despite scorching heat, Jan-Samvad was organised at Government High School at village Palki todayduring the yatra. Sadhvi Pragya Bharti, Vice President M.P. Jan Abhiyan Parishad Shri Pradeep Pandey, Chairman M.P. Rozgar Samvardhan Mandal Shri Hemant Deshmukh talked to the people on water conservation, sanitation, plantations, de-addiction and Beti Bachao –Beti Padhao campaign. They also informed people about the large plantation programme to be held on July 2.

As many as 97 villages on southern bank and around 100 villages of Dindori district are situated on northern bank of Narmada River. Pledge is being administered to the villagers for organic farming, de-addiction and to send children to schools in the yatra. As a result the yatra has become a medium to educate and provide information to the villagers. This yatra taking along religion, culture and traditions with it is also inspiring villagers of remote areas towards development and progress.

Women holding kalash was eagerly waiting to welcome the yatra at village Churiya. With the resolution of Narmada river conservation, yatra moved ahead for gram panchayat Mudhiya Kalan. Musical play titling Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh was presented focussing pollution in Jan-Samvad at Dharmpur Tola of this panchayat. Sadhvi Pragya Bharti held discussions on solutions to maintain cleanliness in Narmada river with the people present on the occasion. As per the intentions of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Sushri Bharti inspired the villagers to take part in the plantation programme to be held on July 2.

Yatra taking night halt at Dharmpura will proceed for village Kurkwar tomorrow morning.-WTN
