Employment oriented education should be given by the university
Bhopal 07 October 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that a large number of tribal people live in Madhya Pradesh. About 21 percent of the population of the state belongs to the tribes. Tribal society is still behind in the pace of development. Governor Patel has said that we should all participate in the all-round development of the tribes. The government has given the slogan of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. Together we can make this concept a reality. Take as a challenge the task of implementing the welfare schemes of the government by going among the people of the tribal society, bringing happiness in their lives.
Governor Patel said that everyone together will have to make positive efforts to bring growth, progress and prosperity in the life of tribal community. Continuous efforts will have to be made to bring improvement in the lives of the people of the tribal community. Governor Patel was addressing a debate on prevention of sickle cell disease at Indira Gandhi Tribal National University, Amarkantak today.
The debate was inaugurated by the Governor Patel by garlanding the photo of Maa Saraswati and lighting the lamp. On this occasion MLA Phundelal Singh Marko, District Panchayat President Roopmati Singh, Chancellor Dr. Mukul Ishwarlal Shah, Vice Chancellor Prof. Prakash Mani Tripathi, officers, public representatives and members of voluntary social organisations were also present.
Governor Patel said that everyone's goal is human welfare. I have a great expectation from all of you that you will go among the people of the tribal society and cooperate with them in the matter of their growth and progress. By guiding them, we will try to bring them on path of development and progress with confidence. Governor Patel said that good health is also necessary along with development. Sickle cell disease is more prevalent in tribal areas. Many health disorders arise due to sickle cell disease. Awareness is essential for the prevention of sickle cell disease. Information about the causes of sickle cell disease and what are the measures to prevent it should reach the people of the tribal society living in remote areas.
Governor Patel said that patients suffering from sickle cell should also get the services of specialists and doctors. Governor Patel said that efforts should also be made to eradicate sickle cell disease completely. He said that continuous efforts are being made by the government for the patients suffering from sickle cell. Governor Patel said that the knowledge of Tribal University should reach the villages and the poor. The knowledge of the university should be utilised in the prevention of sickle cell disease and other diseases and in providing employment and self-employment to the people of tribal society. The knowledge imparted by the universities to the students should be employment-oriented. The education provided by the universities should also provide employment to the students.
The Dean Indira Gandhi Tribal University and Vice Chancellor Tribal University Amarkantak also addressed the debate. In the debate, Tarun Kumar Mogre, Gangotri Bhimte, who are suffering from sickle cell disease, also spoke about the problems caused by sickle-cell disease.
Centre of Excellence inaugurated
Governor Mangubhai Patel inaugurated the Center of Excellence set up in the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University campus by cutting the ribbon. He also planted saplings on this occasion.
Benefits were distributed to the beneficiaries
