Saturday Governor visits Central Jail Indore
The state government is making continuous efforts to improve the lives of prisoners
 
Bhopal 23 October 2-21: Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the life of that person is meaningful who sacrifices himself in the service of humanity. Swami Vivekananda had said live not only for yourself but for the welfare of others. Incorporating this goal within you, the prisoners living in jail should introspect and make continuous efforts to make them better human beings. Make life meaningful while discharging the responsibility towards the country and society. Nature also always helps the person who dedicates his life for others. Governor Patel addressed the prisoners in the Central Jail Indore. He encouraged the prisoners while boosting their morale. On the second day of his stay in Indore, he reached the Central Jail Indore and visited the jail premises.

All facilities are being given to prisoners from humanitarian point of view

Governor Patel said that during his visit to the jail premises, he found that all kinds of resources are available in the jail for the convenience of the prisoners. E-meeting service, telephone service and medical service to the prisoners are also being provided in the premises. Various skill trainings are also being imparted to the prisoners in the jail for livelihood through public participation. The facilities which the prisoners should get from the humanitarian point of view are being given in jail premises. Governor Patel said that the State Government is constantly striving to improve the lives of the prisoners. Efforts are being made to provide cent percent legal service to the prisoners as per the requirement. All the jails of the state are being connected with the court through video conferencing, so that the court cases of prisoners can be resolved quickly. Governor Patel said that the prisoners living in the jail should be encouraged to read good literature, so that the people living here will be able to make their life enjoyable despite being imprisoned. Along with this, regular yoga camps should be organised for their physical and mental health. He told the prisoners living in the jail that whatever you are getting to learn in the jail premises will help in making life more productive and improving the conduct.

Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani said that it is a direct example of the sensitivity of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh that he is visiting the Central Jail today. The history of the Central Jail of Indore is glorious in itself, from freedom fighters who participated in the freedom movement to MISA prisoners in the time of Emergency were also kept here. Various innovations have been done in this jail from time to time to make the life of the prisoners even better. The prison administration is providing as much facilities as possible to the prisoners. Indore Central Jail is the only jail where utensils are being made by the prisoners. New efforts are being made here daily to make everyone self-reliant through public participation. During the corona virus infection in the central jail, the corona guide-line was followed completely, as a result of which the corona virus had minimal effect on the prisoners living in the jail. He said that another fully equipped big central jail was being constructed in Indore which would be ready soon.

Governor Patel visited the Kanha sales centre built by the prisoners in the jail premises. He toured the entire jail complex by sitting in an e-rickshaw and listened to Jail Vani FM 18.77 being operated by the prisoners and appreciated the efforts being made by the jail administration. Governor Patel also planted a tree of Belpatra in the jail premises. During the programme organised in Central Jail Indore, various types of cultural and Malkhamb games were presented by the prisoners.
