Bhopal 02 November 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that Deepawali is such a festival which has great importance from both spiritual and practical point of view. It is a festival of sharing happiness. Celebrate it by spreading the light of happiness in the lives of others.

Governor Patel was addressing the Diwali welcome ceremony at Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan today. Officials and employees of Raj Bhavan including Principal Secretary to Governor D.P. Ahuja were present.

Governor Patel said that festivals have special significance in Indian culture. Festivals and celebrations are organised according to the seasons in the country. Festivals give an opportunity to celebrate happiness with family in today's busy life. It is also an opportunity to pass on our traditions and cultural heritage to the future generations. He said that it is the responsibility of the parents to inculcate the values ​​in the children. That is why it is necessary that their speech and behaviour should impart good values ​​to the children.

Governor Patel appreciated the cultural performances of the children of Raj Bhavan. Referring to the beautiful rangolis made by the children and their themes, he said that the messages of cleanliness, water, environment preservation and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao are very deep and important in the rangolis. He said that the amount of water in the land is limited, if it is not conserved, then the future generations will face the threat to life. Therefore, it is very important that water is not misused in our daily activities.
Governor Patel inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The Principal Secretary to the Governor welcomed him on behalf of the employees by presenting a bunch of flowers. Patel extended Diwali greetings to the employees of Raj Bhavan.
