Propaganda based strategy must be implemented for energy literacy
Bhopal 04 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that works to establish Sanchi in Raisen district as the first Solar City, a World Heritage Site should be accelerated. This will be a wonderful achievement of the state. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the works of floating solar plant being set up in Omkareshwar should be completed in the next one and a half years. To increase energy literacy in the state, a concrete strategy based on publicity should be implemented. Radio, TV, Social Media must be utilized to spread the message of power saving among the people. Saving power is equivalent to making electricity. This spirit must reach the people in the interest of the state.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the review meeting of New and Renewable Energy Department at Mantralaya today. New and Renewable Energy Minister Hardeep Singh Dang, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and other officers were present.
Sanchi Solar City Yojana
Under the Sanchi Solar City Yojana, 12 technical institutes in this major tourist center will be operated from off-grid solar plants. Anganwadi buildings will be energized with solar energy. Solar system of 6 thousand KW capacity is to be installed in Sanchi grid system. In the project, every house, agriculture and industry of Sanchi will be connected to the solar system. This will give a boost to the local economy, besides reducing the electricity bill, pollution, government subsidies and will also increase the tourism importance of Sanchi. For making Sanchi a ground mounted solar system, 20 acres of land has been identified in the nearby village of Nagori.
Plants to be installed on roofs of houses
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the implementation of projects to get electricity from Suraj should be expedited. While solar parks and projects are important, the use of solar energy should be promoted in every household. Domestic consumers of solar energy should also use it. Chief Minister Chouhan said that people should be encouraged to use solar roof-top plants. A publicity campaign should be conducted for maximum use of solar roof-tops.
Implementation of projects
Chief Minister Chouhan directed for timely completion of works of Agar, Neemuch and Shajapur solar projects. A detailed project report has been prepared and the transaction consultant has been selected for Chhatarpur solar project also. Baseline survey work is going on for Morena Solar Project. The land allotment process is also being completed soon. Various works are being done continuously under Kusum Yojana for agricultural use.
Work completed in the roadmap of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh
In Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh, the New and Renewable Energy Department has made efforts to complete the works after obtaining the consent of the concerned departments. In the Urja Saksharta Abhiyan, there is a plan to provide necessary information related to energy conservation to the citizens in view of climate change. This will also be included in various course modules. Awareness will be spread by providing special tool kit.

- Coordinate with bankers for constraints of Kusum Yojana.
- Increase awareness about solar energy among the general public.
- Take punitive action against those who are negligent in work.
- Make a roadmap to make citizens resolve to save energy. I myself will do the work of getting people to resolve to save energy in every programme like Kanya Pujan.
