Bhopal 13 February 2022: Culture, Tourism and Spirituality Minister Sushri Usha Thakur said that Bharat Bhavan is the protector and promoter of the art and culture of Madhya Pradesh. Increasing its role further, Kalagram will be established based on the vision of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Minister Sushri Thakur was addressing the various arts festival organized on the 40th anniversary of Bharat Bhavan. Sushri Thakur said that Kalagram is a very important and unique initiative for the expansion of Bharat Bhavan. For the establishment of Kalagram by the government, 1 acre 5 decimal land has also been allotted to Bharat Bhavan.
Minister Sushri Thakur said that Kala Gram would become a center for collection and display of traditional paintings of the state, study focused on folk styles based on Mahabharata and Ramayana, dialogues, lectures, film screenings and documentation on various aspects of the state's culture.
Rangmandal will be restarted
Minister Sushri Thakur said that the old heritage Rang Mandal of Bharat Bhavan would be started again. Rang Mandal has given many eminent and famous artists to the state. With this, the artists of the state will get a prestigious and suitable platform for their practice, as well as the talents of the state will raise the name of the state in the country and abroad.
Minister Sushri Thakur inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp along with eminent artists and litterateurs. In the ceremony, Sushri Thakur decorated the artists, litterateurs and theater artists in various categories with the National Kalidas and Shikhar Samman. Sushri Thakur also visited the paintings of Sushri Durga Bai Vyam selected for Padma, Illustration Art Exhibition- Surekha and exhibition of works of eminent artists.
Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism and Trustee Secretary of Bharat Bhavan Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that 40 years for a person indicate the slope of his life, on the other hand the more time passes after the establishment of an institution, its respect increases more. During the 40-year journey of Bharat Bhavan, this institution has got the support of many eminent artists and creators. Taking inspiration from this, Bharat Bhavan will continue to make an important contribution in enriching it further while preserving the cultural and creative heritage of the state.
Embellishment of artists with National Kalidas Samman and Shikhar Samman
Artists, litterateurs and theater artists were honoured in various categories with National Kalidas Samman and Rajya Shikhar Samman at Bharat Bhawan Muktakaash Manch. Rashtriya Kalidas Samman for Roopankar Arts was given to Jyoti Bhatt of Gujarat for the year 2017, Sushri Ira Choudhary of New Delhi for 2018, Sushri Paramjit Singh of New Delhi for the year 2019 and Sushri Dhruv Mistry of Baroda for the year 2020. National Kalidas Samman for Rangakarma was conferred to Dr. Anil Rastogi of Lucknow for the year 2019 and Vaman Kendra of Mumbai for the year 2020.
Rajya Shikhar Samman for Hindi literature was given to Shaival Satyarthi of Gwalior for the year 2019 and Hari Joshi of Bhopal for the year 2020. Similarly, for Urdu literature, Naeem Kausar of Bhopal was awarded for the year 2019 and Devisharan of Bhopal for the year 2020. For Sanskrit literature, Dr. Rameshwar Prasad Gupta of Datia for the year 2019 and Prof. Rahas Bihari Dwivedi of Jabalpur was awarded for the year 2020. For classical music, Gwalior's Pt Prabhakar Laxman Gohadkar was awarded for the year 2019 and Bhopal's Pt Sajjanlal Brahmabhatt for the year 2020.
For Roopankar arts, Devi Lal Patidar of Bhopal for the year 2019 and Manish Pushkale of New Delhi for the year 2020. For the drama, Sushri Vaishali Gupta of Bhopal was awarded for the year 2019 and Shri KG Trivedi of Bhopal for the year 2020. For Tribal and Folk Arts, Agnesh Kerkatta of Bhopal was given for the year 2019 and Purnima Chaturvedi for the year 2020. Similarly, Rajya Shikhar Samman for the rare instrument was awarded to Babulal Bhola of Sagar for the year 2019 and Dr. Varsha Agarwal of Ujjain for the year 2020.
On the first day of the function, under the direction of Santosh Sant, the artists of Swara Venu Gurukul Indore gave a melodious musical performance of Flute Saptak. On this occasion, Director Bharat Bhavan Aditi Kumar Tripathi, artists, theater artists and a large number of general public were present.
Various activities will be organised in the five-day multi-art ceremony
Cultural activities like smooth music, engaging dance, slide show, dance drama and poetry recitation will be there till 17th February 2022 in the function organised at Bahukala Kendra Bharat Bhawan.
On the second day of the function, on 14th February at 12 noon, slideshow and dialogues will be organised by the decorated artists of Rupankar arts. At 7 pm, the play 'Aakhri Vasant' starring Anil Rastogi, who was honored with the National Kalidas Award, will be presented by the artists of Darpan, Lucknow under the direction of Shubhdeep Raha. The dance drama 'Amritsya Narmada' based on Kathak will be presented by Sushri Suchitra Harmalkar and fellow artistes at 7 pm on the third day of the function.
The film Pyaasa, directed by Guru Dutt, will be screened on the fourth day of the function on 16 February at 2 pm. From 7 pm onwards, Sanskrit poets Mithila Prasad Tripathi and Ramnath Jha, Hindi poets Yatindra Mishra and Sushri Anna Madhuri Tirkey, Odia poet Sushri Paramita Satpathy and Marathi poet Sushri Kalpana Dudhal will recite poetry. On the last day, February 17, at 7 pm, the play 'Mohe Piya' directed by Vaman Kendre, who was honored with the National Kalidas Samman, will be presented by the artists of Rangpeeth Mumbai – Window to News
