Special Cover and Seal Unveiled At Maharishi Gautam Jayanti Celebrations
Bhopal 21 March 2022: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that Indian culture is the proponent of the eternal knowledge and culture of the whole world. The rich tradition of sacrifice and penance of sages and munis for the welfare of mankind and their knowledge is the invaluable heritage of our culture. He said that the philosophy of justice of Maharishi Gautam tells that justice is the only way to reach a decision on the basis of evidence. Philosophy of justice is perhaps the oldest proof of our thinking, the pride of scientific thinking.
Governor Patel was addressing Maharishi Gautam Jayanti celebrations 2022. The Governor unveiled the special cover and deformation seal issued to commemorate the memory of Maharishi Gautam Jayanti celebrations organised by the Chief Post Master General, Madhya Pradesh Circle.
Governor Patel said that the continuity of work is necessary to give values of self-respect, sacrifice to the youths and future generations and inspire them to follow it for the awakening of national pride. The future of the nation will also be bright only when it remains attached every moment with the glory of its past experiences and heritage. He said that Prime Minister Modi ji is making efforts to acquaint the coming young generation with our glorious cultural heritage and build a strong and capable generation to face the challenges of the future. The Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi is an attempt to acquaint the future and young generation with the past glory of Indian culture. He expressed the need of efforts by the society to inculcate the life values and traditions of Indian culture in the conduct of the future generations. He said that acquiring knowledge is not enough, it is also necessary to apply it in life. The significance of programmes of remembrance of great men is only when the path shown by them is followed in life.
Chief Post Master General BP Sarangi informed that in order to preserve the memory of the ceremony, special cover and deformation stamp on Maharishi Gautam has been issued by the department. He said that in this sequence, 6 special covers have been released on the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, 4 on the Geographical Index tag, one on Late Lata Mangeshkar and a special cover on Birju Maharaj have also been released.
Dr S Shivaram, Director, Department of Posts proposed the vote of thanks. It was conducted by Abhishek Choubey. General Secretary Gurjar Gaur Brahmin Mahasabha Dr Lakhan Sharma threw light on the outline of Maharishi's life and contribution. The programme started with lighting of lamp.
