Bhopal 26 March 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that irregularities and wrong-doings in the work of distribution of food grains will not be tolerated. The work of distribution of ration should be done with transparency. Implement the system Strictly to benefit the general public. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing after the presentation given by the fourth group during the contemplation meeting (Chintan Baithak) at Pachmarhi today.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that in the state about 5 crore consumers are getting food grains at low price. In this work all the arrangements should remain perfect. Technology should be used. Take action on complaints of irregularities. Zero tolerance policy should be adopted. Consider making fair price shops multipurpose. People will bless for implementing reforms in this area. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the distribution of food grains through vehicles has been started in 89 tribal-dominated development blocks of the state. In the past, the work of distributing food grains through bags or sacks was also done. Food grains were delivered to homes in rural areas during the Corona period. Food festival and arrangements should be made better in the interest of consumers.

Suggestions received related to improve ration distribution system

In the contemplation meeting, on behalf of the Group of Ministers, Food Minister Bisahulal Singh informed that the unemployed youths have been given the responsibility of distribution of ration in 89 development blocks in the state. Fortified rice was also distributed in Singrauli district, which will be done in other districts as well. Along with this, an initiative has also been taken to distribute salt and other essential material. Food Minister Singh informed that food grains and other consumer items are being distributed to 5 crore consumers in the state. The arrangements for storage and distribution of food grains are constantly monitored. Ministers Dr. Narottam Mishra, Gopal Bhargava, Kamal Patel, Bhupendra Singh, Govind Singh Rajput, Omprakash Sakhlecha, Tulsiram Silawat and Hardeep Singh Dang etc. gave suggestions in the meeting.

Suggestions were also made regarding distribution of food grains through mobile vehicles, use of GPS in grain distribution vehicles, availability of fair price shops at panchayat level, ration cards and supply of materials through eligibility slips to all eligible beneficiaries, appointment of a salesman in place of the careless society manager also in other development blocks in addition to tribal development blocks.

Apart from Food Minister Bisahulal Singh, Ministers Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Bharat Singh Kushwaha and Dr. Arvind Bhadauria are included in the Group of Ministers constituted by the State Government to receive suggestions regarding improving the food distribution systems – Window to News
