National award to Mandla district, Sitamau block and Morpani panchayat for best MNREGA works

Bhopal: Mandla district, Sitamau development block and Morpani adivasi gram panchayat have been chosen for national award for outstanding MNREGA works in the state. The award would be given by the Union Ministry for Rural Development in a programme to be organized at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on June 19. This award is being given for outstanding works under MNREGA undertaken in the financial year 2015-16.

Mandla district will be awarded for best works done under Mahatma Gandhi Rozgar Guarantee Yojana. Sitamau development block will be awarded for best geo-tagging of permanent assets created under the Yojana. Morpani adivasi gram panchayat of Kesla development block of Hoshangabad district has also been chosen for the award for best work under the Yojana.

The awards will be presented to the then Collector Lokesh Yadav for best MNREGA works in Mandla district, CEO D.S Masram of Sitamau Janpad of Mandsaur district and to Sarpanch of Morpani gram panchayat Smt. Sangeeta Thakur.-WTN
