Grand Plantation Campaign is Revolutionary Step for Environment Conservation

Bhopal: Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Narottam Mishra said that plantation under the Grand Plantation campaign will prove to be a revolutionary step for environment improvement in Betul today. It will not only bring improvement in the environment but it will help enriching Narmada River beside other rivers .

Dr. Mishra planted saplings of different varieties at J.H. College campus. He also planted saplings in Sonaghati area under the Betul Forest circle. Earlier Dr. Mishra also planted saplings at local Vijay Bhavan campus. Moreover, he reached Gangavatran abhiyan being carried out by Bharat- Bharti Sansthan and appreciated its work apprising himself about the abhiyan activities from the Director Mohan Nagar.

Dr. Mishra said that plantation of medicinal plants keeps our environment and body healthy. We should make efforts to plant medicinal plants around us. We also should make efforts to plant saplings on the banks of rivers in large number.
Over 25 lakh saplings of various varieties were planted in Betul district under the Grand Plantation campaign. Under this, over 14 lakh saplings and about 11 lakh saplings were planted with cooperation of Forest department and other departments respectively. Plantation was carried out at over 5 thousand places under the campaign.

MP Smt. Jyoti Dhurve, Chairman Madhya Pradesh Rozgar Nirman Board Hemant Vijayrao Deshmukh, President Jila Panchayat Surajalal Jawarkar, MLA Betul Hemant Khandelwal, MLA Amla Chaitram Manekar, Member District Planning Committee Jitendra Kapoor also planted saplings on the occasion.-WTN
