Decision to Re-Start Kailaras Cooperative Sugar Factory to be taken after Deliberations with Farmers -CM Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Local MLA and Divisional Commissioner should reach an agreement after deliberating with farmers as regard to Kailaras Cooperative Sugar factory of district Morena. Later on action to re-start sugar factory should be taken. Chouhan gave this directives in a meeting here today. Minister for Finance Jayant Malayya was also present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the cooperative sugar factory is closed since 2011-12. Demand to re-start it has been put forth by the farmers. Cooperative department has informed that the factory has to be handed over to private sector after transferring it to the Food Processing department to start it again. Beside this priority will be given to member farmers to obtain sugarcane. National Sugarcane Factory union has suggested that capacity of this factory has to be increased to start it again and 12 m.w. electricity plant should be installed which will cost about Rs. 96 crore.
