Massive Tree Plantation Campaign of July 2

Bhopal: Inspired by government’s resolution of massive tree plantation in Narmada Basin region, newly-wed couples could not resist the urge to take part in the plantation programme after tying the knot at a mass community marriage ceremony. The occasion was of the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah programme at Jatashankar Dham in Damoh in which 70 couples including a disabled person and a widow also tied the nuptial knot. Both the groom and bride seemed happy to take part in the tree plantation programme at Deendayal Park. This was perhaps the first time that the couples planted saplings soon after ‘pheras’.

The couples who planted saplings included Bablu-Nanni, Daulat-Uma, Durga-Radha, Durga-Radha, Mohan-Dasoda and Arvind-Arti.

According to the newly-weds, the massive tree plantation campaign launched by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is commendable. State Finance, Commercial Tax Minister Jayant Kumar Malaiya also took part in the programme. Malaiya praised the newly-weds for planting saplings and wished them good luck. 

Communal harmony noticed during plantation

People belonging to Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian community took part in plantation programme with great enthusiasm at Lamheta ghat in Jabalpur thus becoming a symbol of communal harmony. Similarly, inspired by the importance of plants as told to him by his father, 6-year-old Ayush Singh (Nanu) also planted saplings along with his father Ajay Singh at Bahoribandh tehsil premises in Katni district.

Girls give message to save environment

Two sisters Kanchan and Ruchi Chourasia residing in Lusakhedi in Devguradia Pahadi in Indore district, collected scattered polythenes with their mother and gave a message to save the environment.

Students of Seva Sadan School in Piprana villahe of Burhanpur district carried spades, plants other related equipment and planted saplings enthusiastically. Every village with plantation has been adopted by a school.
SDM honours girl child

Honouring the wish of a woman labourer’s girl child, SDM Rajpur Smt. Riju Bafna planted saplings along with her at Roseshwar pahadi in Badwani district. Twin sisters Kumari Reena and Kumari Tina Patel of Class 5th were also included among those who planted saplings at the Pahadi. These girls came with their father `M Prakash to plant saplings.

Collector distributed green passports to students who planted the saplings at the Pahadi. While the passport contains all the information of the student, there is arrangement of the photos of the saplings planted. In this passport the students can have information of the saplings with photos registered for the next 20 years.
Saplings planted in memory of ‘Dadi’

Kumari Bhumika Vyas studyng in Class 8th of Saket International School planted saplings in memory of their grandmother Smt. Vimladevi Vyas. She vowed that although she could not save her grandmother, she will definitely plant and maintain a sapling in her memory.

Sahariya tribals also plant saplings

Saharia tribals also planted saplings of Amla and resolved to nurture and take care of it at Novai village in Bhander development block in Datia district.-WTN
