Second day of Indore National Summit on Health Innovations

Bhopal: Various states shared their innovations on the second day of the three-day ongoing Indore National Summit on Health Innovations. Representatives gave presentation of innovations based on mother-child health, communicative-non-communicative disease control, hospital management, Urban Health Mission, health techniques, community health processes, infrastructure development and health service quality.

Diploma course to fulfill shortage of specialists

Tamil Nadu has made a new experiment to end the dearth of specialists. State government is expanding specialist services in district hospitals and giving training to MBBS doctors in district hospital and making them pursue DNB course. This diploma is equal to post graduate degree. This will enable fulfillment of special doctors without increasing P.G. seats in Medical Colleges. 100 seats have been fixed for this diploma in Tamil Nadu.

Technique to save from post -delivery deaths

Specialists from Maharashtra gave a presentation on the efforts made to check deaths among women due to excessive bleeding after delivery. A team of Wardha Medical College of Maharashtra has developed a Uterine Balloon Tamponade technique which will help save deaths of women from excessive bleeding at less cost.

Special Secretary Status

Odisha team gave a presentation on the innovation related to giving special secretary status to officials of Public Health Cadre in state government for better policy-based decisions.

Posting in far-flung areas becomes an attraction

Chhattisgarh government shared innovations to make posting of specialists and doctors in far-flung areas attractive. Fully-equipped houses are being given to the doctors in health centres apart from providing all essential facilities to their families as well. Salary provisions of doctors have been made more flexible and attractive giving rise to the number of doctors in far-flung areas.

Innovations of Madhya Pradesh lauded

Presentation on innovations of Madhya Pradesh was lauded at the summit. In the Mental Health Programme, special screening, counseling and medical unit (Man Kaksh) set up in every District Hospital were lauded. A presentation was also made of the innovative pilot project for diabetes examination of pregnant women in Hoshangabad district.

Mutation of quality improvement and construction work plan by appointing hospital planners in order to make construction work systematic according to the farsighted and systematic needs of buildings of Government health organizations by the government was also lauded.

Special Authority for Organ transplantation

Tamil Nadu government has established a special authority for organ transplantation. This will make innovative organ transplantation process easier and smoother. Indore Divisional Commissioner shared his experience of green corridor prepared for transportation of human organs for transplantation in Indore.
