Training to Master Trainers and Sculptors

Bhopal: Chief Executive Officer of EPCO Anupam Rajan inaugurated Green Ganesh Abhiyan – 2017 with training programme of NGC –Master Trainers and Chief Sculptors of all the divisions today. Two master trainers and 4 sculptors from each division participated in the training programme.
Rajan urged the sculptors to prepare and sell idols of small sizes using normal clay and natural colours. He mentioned that immersion of big size idols prepared from P.O.P. and chemical colours caused serious ill effects to our rivers, ponds and lakes etc. Contaminated water becomes very dangerous and harmful for vegetation, birds-animals and human health. Chief Engineer Anup Shrivastava informed about the concept and objectives of the workshop.
In the first technical session, Rajesh Raikwar, J.P. Namdeo and Kamlesh Verma informed the participants about social and environmental effects of idols prepared from P.O.P., environmental solution through idols from clay, role of master trainers and sculptors in Green Ganesh Abhiyan, about 7 types of clay available in state and material used to mix with them for preparing idols and preparation of clay etc. A film on Green Ganesh Abhiyan -2016 was also shown to the participants. Moreover, in the second session, Assistant Architect Kamlesh Verma and his associates imparted training for making idols. Participants came from various districts put forth their problems and also gave suggestions on the occasion.
Second phase of the campaign will be organized in Division Head Quarters of Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain and Rewa in the last week of July followed by third phase from August 16 to 23.-WTN
